CGU Add Automatic Flood Cover to Home, Content and Landlord Policies

Posted by Dustin Reed \ Dec 09, 2020

From February 2012, CGU’s home, contents and landlords policies will automatically include cover for flood on renewal, ensuring its customers are fully covered in the event of storm or flood water damage to their home.  This will also speed up the claims process by removing the need for complex assessments.

“Our customers and intermediaries have told us that automatically including flood cover in our policies will remove ambiguity when a property is damaged by storm or flood water and give them increased
certainty and peace of mind,” said Peter Harmer, CEO, CGU Insurance. CGU has been able to introduce flood cover due to recently improved access to flood mapping data from local councils and state governments and a commitment from Federal Government to developing a central, consistent source of flood mapping data.

Ways to Compare Term Life Insurance Policies

Posted by Admin \ Feb 07, 2020

In the past, if you wanted to compare term life insurance policies and quotes, then you are in for a long and tedious process. Fortunately, the internet now offers a way to get life insurance quotes in Florida or in other states in the US easily and quickly. To help you get started, here is a simple guide to comparing term life insurance policies and rates.

Before setting out to look for a policy, try to determine how much and what type of life insurance you need. When determining these, you might want to consider several factors such as your annual income, the amount of debt that you currently have, your cost of living and the amount of savings that you already have put away.

Visit at least three or four websites of reputable insurance companies and providers. As you go through the websites, check the life insurance coverage options that they are offering, as well as their monthly premiums.

Check if the websites offer a tool which would allow you to get an online quote. Most websites of insurance companies have a wide range of life insurance plans which you can easily customize to fit your needs so you can try getting quotes for the plans that you are considering to get. List down the quotes so it would be easier for you to compare later on.

If the websites are unable to answer some questions and concerns that you have regarding the policy that you are considering to get, you can try contacting the life insurance agency. Doing this would give you the opportunity to assess the type of assistance and service that they are able to provide to their clients.

Prepare the documents and paperwork that the insurance company might request from you. Some of these requirements could include your health records, financial statements, proof of employment, your Social Security Card and your birth certificate.

Lastly, compare as many term life insurance quotes and policies as possible so that you would be getting the best policy available that would best fir your coverage needs. If you are unable to come across that offers exactly what you need, check with the insurance companies if they can customize your policy.

Other interesting changes in the Embrace Pet Insurance policies

Posted by Amanda Mitchell \ Aug 20, 2020

You’d think that after the last 6 posts on the pawsome changes to our policies in our move to RLI (see Embrace has a new insurance partner – A+ rated RLI Corp), I’d have exhausted the list by now but there’s still more:

  • you can now get a policy for a 6 week old pet and up (used to be 8 weeks)
  • we have new deductibles, including a $1,000 a year deductible. The premiums on these sweet policies are really really low
  • and did I mention we cover prescription diet cat and dog food in our Wellness Rewards Plus plan, as well as gastropexy, OFA and PennHIP x-rays, and umbilical cord repair? I probably did but I really like those new additions!

OK,  back to work now. Just thought you’d like these nice extras to wrap up the week.
