German Caravan Insurance

These days, more and more people are choosing German caravan manufacturers to provide their ultimate holiday home. This is because their caravans can be incredibly high spec, with top of the range furnishings, fixtures and fittings throughout and with a reputation for quality. However, not only does this make them attractive to potential caravan owners but it also makes them attractive to thieves as well, and this can have a huge impact on whether or not you’ll be able to find German caravan insurance.

Finding this particular type of policy can often be tricky for the simple fact that firms regard you as a higher insurance risk. You’re more likely to be targeted by thieves and vandals than if you went for a lower spec caravan, and they have to prepare for that risk accordingly. They’ll either not be able to offer you a quote at all or will offer you one at incredibly high rates, but when you consider the level of risk involved it isn’t hard to see why.

However, some UK caravan insurance companies will still be able to offer you a policy, but you’ll usually have to abide by strict regulations before they’ll give it to you. For starters you’ll probably need a single axel model with less than 4 berths (if you have a twin axel version with more than 4 berths you could find it even more difficult to arrange cover) and there’ll be strict security measures that you’ll have to abide by too.

The most important thing you can do is research, and never buy that stunning twin axel caravan with 6 berths before you know what you’re doing. Head to a specialist UK broker to see what can be offered, but always be prepared to pay more (either on the policy itself or on security measures) if you want to get German caravan insurance that’s got you completely covered.
