Top Auto Insurers Allstate, State Farm and Geico Have Best Reputations

If auto insurance coverage is on your mind and you’re looking for the best company, consider Allstate, State Farm or Geico. According to a new survey conducted by Market Force Information, a customer intelligence and customer experience management solutions firm, these three car insurance companies are among the most reputable in the nation.

Claims Processing, Price Improve Insurer Reputations

The survey, which looked at auto insurance preferences and trends, found that both Allstate and State Farm had the best reputations in the industry, earning 21 percent of the votes each. Geico also ranked very high, receiving 14 percent of the votes, while USAA and Progressive earned 6 percent of votes each.

The key reason that Allstate and State Farm ranked so high for reputation was their ability to process auto insurance claims well. Among the 18 percent of survey respondents who reported filing a claim with their providers, 85 percent said they were satisfied with the way their claims were processed.

Another major determinant in what gave insurers better reputations was the price they charged. In the survey, 59 percent of participants said their decision to go with an insurer was their price. In addition, many respondents said that insurers remained in their good graces if they offered complete services and received recommendations from loved ones.

Looking for Auto Insurance?

If you’re looking for auto insurance, using a survey based on customer satisfaction and insurer reputation is a good starting point, but it’s important to not stop there. In order to ensure you find the right coverage for you, it’s good to also do the following:

  • Compare services: While certain companies may be the best for everyone, they may not be the best for you. Take time to compare the services offered to make sure they meet your needs.
  • Compare prices: You also want to make sure that the prices being offered (including initial payment) are affordable for you.
  • Check with your state insurance department: You could also contact your state insurance department to check consumer complaint ratios for all companies. Read the details of the complaints to see if a company seems right for you.

If you want to get the most bang for your buck and a guarantee of quality service then you will have to do the legwork necessary to find the right insurer. Otherwise, you could be spending your money on auto insurance without the promise of satisfaction.
