Should I get Business or Personal Auto Insurance?

One of the decisions you will have to make when starting a new business is whether to buy personal or commercial auto insurance.

The biggest determining factor will be the size of your business. If it’s just you and a partner and you’re going to use your personal vehicles for work, you’re better off going with personal coverage. Conversely, if you expect your business to expand quickly, commercial auto insurance will be more comprehensive.

How much driving will you be doing?

You also need to determine how much work-related driving you will be doing.

If you have a lot of different employees spending time on the road, commercial auto insurance is the better option. Commercial packages can be paid with one premium payment and will cover your entire fleet of vehicles.

Cost

Cost-wise, commercial auto insurance won’t be much more expensive than a typical personal auto policy. Policies are based on the number of miles you drive per year, the driver’s record and the number of vehicles in the policy. Obviously the larger the company, the more expensive the policy will be.

It will be expensive to cover a large number of vehicles, but for a large corporation it’s worth it. You can search Go Insurance Rates to find commercial auto insurance quotes and get in touch with an insurance agent today.
