How to Understand Auto Insurance

    Auto insurance is actually a combination of individual coverage’s packaged as one; each equally important however once combined it represents a standard car insurance policy. While every underwriter markets their policies differently with unique features and special offers, a standard auto insurance policy will include the following:Comprehensive Damage Protection – covers damage and/or loss caused by event other than automobile collisionPersonal Injury or Fault/No-fault Coverage – covers injures/medical expenses of driver and passengers (depending on your state, the person at fault is held liable)Collision Coverage – covers damage and/or loss caused by collision with another vehicle and/or objectMedical Coverage – covers medical bills and funeral expenses of injured driver and passengersProperty Damage – covers damages and/or losses to the other parties’ property (if you are determined to be at fault)Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist – covers damage and/or loss caused by a motorist with no or little insuranceBodily Injury Protection – coverage if someone is injured or killed (includes legal protection in most cases)Additional coverage’s are available under your auto insurance policy at a premium. These value-added services include: emergency roadside assistance or mechanical failure.
